Am I Beautiful?

There are many description fall into this special theme— Beauty! Whether you like it or not you are aware of it. Let’s be honest we have that moment of thinking and asking of this nerve-wracking question “Am I beautiful?” I am not ashamed at all everytime I asked this to my mom and my dad  when I here them say “Yes, you are beautiful!” Oh men my heart leaped with joy and my hope soar like an eagle. The feeling is priceless! 🌸

Sex appeal, charming, gorgeous whatever you want to call it. Name it! Looking in the mirror, you began to think again am I beautiful? Hmm presentable, yeah! Now you are even doubting. You’re looking within yourselves, trying to find your value in your beauty and in your worth.

Enough with self-pitying. Come join me let’s widen our horizon of understanding as we dig deeper to find the real definition of beauty.

True beauty operates on three special levels — soul, mind, and body. When all three combine and are in effect, the outcome can be surprising, flabbergasting! What if one of this is out? The exquisite harmony of the music fails. Have you ever met a lady who was physically a work of art, but you had a hard time seeing her charm because her personality stunk? And there’s this adage that goes like “What is beauty when your brain is empty?” The same holds true for men. You see beauty is not just on one level. Let’s stop limiting its truth.

We live in a culture that bombard us with the message of insecurities.  “You are not good enough!” “You are not worthy enough” You do not have the right figure!”  We are bombarded by the unrealistic standards of this world. How many of us will ever be a perfect size 8, be coca cola shape and never have pimples on our face? How many of  us have that time and money to achieve the svelte body, and flawless, white skin?

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any” (1 Corinthians 6:12). This requires a moment of reflection. It’s easy for us to be brought under the power of the world’s idea of beauty, but we knew that if we buy in to it, we will face one of this two outcome; You either will become obsessed with achieving it or you will drown in the sea of self-esteem. Men, where’s the positive here?

Let’s take a look in the mirror again and this time make an honest assessment. Look closely not perfect, right? But workable 😊. Mark you no one is perfect. I like to say that God is fair. To one He gave a beautiful skin but okay body. To another He gave a fabulous body but okay hair. It help us realized that those good points we got along our bad points were designed to keep us all humble.

Beauty tricks are rampant in today’s society. You can check it out in the internet. All sort of beauty ways can be made with a wise wardrobe choices, hairstyle and light make-ups. We can have that! Whatever you do to enhance your beauty the central word should be “natural”. Enhancing beauty and overdoing it are far different—we should know the difference.

We really won’t have the true beauty until Jesus transform us from the inside out. God says we are “not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans:2) I believe there is a good, acceptable, and perfect will of God concerning beauty. And the first thing that makes us beautiful is righteousness (holiness). A woman with a gentle and quiet spirit. A woman who knows how to control her passions and walk with a sensitive conscience before the Lord is beautiful. The only true beauty comes from a life that is fully surrendered to Jesus Christ.

I was able to realized that for the most part the problem is of the way we view of what we have. Our beauty problems for us are usually greater in our minds than in the eyes of others—and we need to know the difference.

We are blinded by our own thinking and others opinion and forget about the beautiful set we got. Behind those unattractive part of us are those gems long to cherished. Love, time to wake up and embrace the truth. The truth will set you free. Let’s accept, love, and reflect on our best gifts. God made us all the way He determined best, in line with His own superior knowledge and for His purpose. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. What matters most is what God thinks. For Him, you and I are fine and beautiful. Cast down those thoughts that exalt themselves against the will of God and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians10:5)

If there is any virtue and excellence, If there is anything worthy of praise, think on, and weigh and take account of this things.” (Philippians 4:8) Remember this special message from God. Fix your mind on them. Take note of your best features and accentuate the positive girl.

I am beautiful! You are beautiful! ❤🌸🍁

  2. I have no idea about what constitutes beauty… Am I beautiful is a question I probably asked a long time ago.. I hardly look in the mirror.. The days my eyes twinkle.. I am beautiful but on a serious note, I would rather be a beautiful human..

    1. That is true. A beautiful soul encompasses all the other aspect. Beauty in physical view is still in the eye of the beholder. The first thing you will notice on someone is their face, next their wit and their beauty from within. Thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤

  3. I remember when , as a young girl , I was attracted by beautiful faces thinking that they meant kindness , cleverness , and high qualities…..
Now , quoting your words , I know that “a beautiful soul defines a beautiful face , and not vice versa “, and appreciate beauty from within ….
